DUBLIN – Brendan Murray has been chosen to represent Ireland at the Eurovision Song Contest 2017 in Kyiv. He will sing Dying To Try.

It’s a good song and honestly I don’t have anything bad to say about the song itself. It’s just not really Eurovision. Ireland has to perform in the second semi-final, which is the less better one in my opinion. But I don’t know, I’m not convinced that it’s going to qualify. There already are a lot of ballads and I think they would need something really special in their performance to make this ballad memorable. In my opinion, people tend to remember a girl in a dress more than a sweet guy. So Ireland definitely needs something to make the performance convincing to the audience. But overall the song is nice. 6/10
