Michael Schulte has won Unser Lied für Lissabon and will represent Germany at the Eurovision Song Contest 2018 in Lisbon. His song You Let Me Walk Alone won with the maximum of 36 points, receiving 12 points from all three juries. The winner of the evenig was chosen by a combination of public voting, a Eurovision panel and an international jury panel.

His live vocals were great and I actually like the sound of his voice. I don’t like the song, though. It’s a nice song but it’s not interesting to watch being sung. Showing pictures of people with their dads is nice, since the song is a tribute to his own father. But I don’t think that this concept will make an impact at Eurovision. The song is actually quite catchy, because of the easy lyrics. I don’t think the song is boring, but it lacks of the Eurovision sparkle. I don’t think the performance in Lisbon will make things right, since the German team hasn’t been great with staging the last few years. I think this will disappoint. 5/10
