Tonight, Romania will choose its representative for the Eurovision Song Contest 2018 in Lisbon. Fifteen songs will compete in the final of Selecția Națională 2018. The winner will be chosen by the televoters from Romania. I have to say that I hardly like any of the songs from the final, but I managed to find three songs that are decent enough to review.

Jukebox feat. Bella Santiago with Auzi cum bate

This is an okay song. The vocals are pretty good and the melody isn’t bad either. I just wonder what they’re singing since they look so fierce on stage. I like the idea of a duet and their voices really match. Of course, they would need a better staging with a strict performance because now they’re just jumping around a bit. But this song certainly has potential. 5/10

Feli with Royalty (Bună de iubit)

I think this is a very original song for Eurovision. It’s not ordinary to send a song like this. Her vocals are good and I really like the language. I’m just afraid that they will change the song to English and that it will lose its charm. I also think that her styling doesn’t match the song at all. The song is very fun and makes me think about summer, and then she stands there in a suit with knitted accents. Change the outfit and the song performance will look completely different. 5/10

Eduard Santha with Me som romales

I don’t really like the song but I think it has some great elements in it. The dancer and the lights show some sort of concept, that definitely needs improvements. But I like the idea. I just think that this song will be a bit too odd for the Eurovision Song Contest, if that’s even possible. With some changes it could really work. 5/10
